Mount Kartepe is the third largest mountain in the Marmara region. In the Uzuntarla neighborhood of Kartepe, Sukaypark offers various water sports opportunities. Additionally, within the boundaries of Kartepe lies the Ormanya Natural Life Center, which is claimed to be Europe's largest natural wildlife park and hosts approximately 1 million visitors per month.
\nKartepe was formerly known as Kel Tepe and is located southeast of Izmit. It is the second highest mountain in the Marmara Region, with its highest point reaching 1601 meters, part of the Samanlı Mountains range.
