About Manisa

Çınaroba is a neighborhood affiliated with the Saruhanlı district of Manisa, and all of its local residents are Yörük. The exact founding date of the neighborhood is not known, but it is known to be the oldest neighborhood in the Saruhanlı region. Generally speaking, if we were to talk about the founding process of the neighborhood: Since all of the village residents are Yörük, they engage in animal husbandry and lead a nomadic lifestyle. During winters with a mild climate, they used to set up quite large tents made of goat hair, called oba, under the plane trees known as Çınarlı, located above the town of Halitpaşa to the south. As the weather warmed up, they would gather their tents and spend the summer months with their animals in various pastures around Sındırgı. Later, when the local people wanted to transition to a settled way of life, they wanted to establish a village. They chose a location that was most suitable for them, to the east of Çınarlı, on a longitudinal plain at the foot of the mountain, and established their new settlement there. Thus, they named the neighborhood \"Çınaroba,\" which means \"obas under the plane trees.\" The neighborhood is located at the foothills of Çal Mountain.
